Make A Donation

“Thank you for making woman like us feel worthy of a lot more than what we have come from and listening to what we want.  I am no longer scared and am now ready to go and restart my life.”

You can donate through our website to help our charity to continue to provide specialist domestic abuse services across Hertfordshire.

You can make a one-time donation or register to give a monthly contribution.

Anyone can be a victim of domestic abuse, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, socio-economic status, sexuality or background.

There are different kinds of abuse that can happen in different contexts. The most prevalent type of domestic abuse occurs in relationships. But the definition of domestic abuse also covers abuse between family members, such as adolescent to parent violence and abuse and elder abuse.

As a charity, we understand and see first-hand the impact of the current financial situation across the UK. Any donation (large or small) will be gratefully received and we will ensure your money is used to directly support survivors of domestic abuse.

On behalf of SAHWR and all our clients, we appreciate your kind generosity and time to donate towards helping the work we do to support survivors of domestic abuse.

  • Donate - Emergency Welcome Pack

    £25

This could provide an emergency welcome pack for a family arriving at safe accommodation

  • Donate - General Fund

    £75

This could fund a day trip out for families in our refuge. A trip to soft play, or the zoo is a luxury to some and can help them to have some normality at a difficult time.

  • Donate - Moving On Package

    £150

This could provide a client with a ‘moving on’ package (including new bedding, kitchen pans and crockery) when restarting life in a new home.

Current fundraising campaigns:

Emergency Welcome Packs:

When a new survivor or family arrive at our Safe Accommodation, many have fled their home and arrive with absolutely nothing.

SAHWR provide a Welcome Pack that includes basic emergency supplies, including food, baby products, clothes, toiletries and hygiene/sanitary products.  For families with small children we also provide a toy that they can have as their own.

Our Fundraising strategy:

SAHWR employs a proactive approach to fundraising. We have developed a strategy, which identifies both statutory and voluntary funding for our services. We receive funding for existing services through contracts and from local authorities, trusts and grant giving foundations.

However, the demand for our services continues to grow and we currently do not have the financial resources to help all the individuals or families impacted by domestic abuse.
