Our Impact
SAHWR has a proven track record and established reputation across Hertfordshire for providing specialist domestic abuse services, along with key partnerships, to effectively support survivors of domestic abuse.
Our services provide a lifeline to many individuals experiencing domestic abuse, with increasing numbers of vulnerable people requiring safe refuge, as well as emotional and therapy support. Our work tackles the increased risk of social isolation experienced by survivors due to leaving their homes and communities, and empowers individuals to improve and flourish in their lives.

We have directly supported 732 survivors of domestic abuse across all our services.

Our staff have provided 28,463 hours of support to survivors of domestic abuse in Hertfordshire.

In our services there is a reported 89% increase in the feeling of safety.

92 families have accessed our Safe Accommodation service.

14 individuals have accessed our Move On Accommodation

142 individuals have completed our survivor program.

Our staff have supported 24 male survivors of domestic abuse.

SAHWR have received referrals from 16 different partner agencies.

93% of our clients rated our Safe Accommodation bedrooms as βhigh qualityβ.
69% of our clients rated our Safe Accommodation facilities as βExceeded expectationsβ.
Our Strong Survivors programme.
Our βStrong Survivorsβ programme provides specialist support through peer friendship and skills training for young, single women (aged 17-21) who have fled domestic abuse and are living within our emergency refuge accommodation.
