SAHWR recognised at the 2025 Heart Hertfordshire Hero awards…

Everyone at SAHWR is celebrating this week following the 2025 Heart Hertfordshire Hero awards.

Our Chair of Trustees, Maralyn Pollard, was nominated and was the recipient of the Volunteer Award. Maralyn was recognised for her amazing passion and commitment to supporting survivors of domestic abuse across Hertfordshire. Maralyn has been volunteering at SAHWR for over 40 years and has been a trustee and Chair of charity for the past 30 years.

This years Volunteer Award was sponsored by Hertfordshire Community Foundation who commented:

At SAHWR, we know we are incredibly lucky to have someone as dedicated and passionate as Maralyn leading the charity, but it was a great pleasure for Maralyn to receive the award as recognition of all the hard work she puts in.

The event was held last week at the beautiful Tewinbury Farm Hotel and this special event celebrates the unsung heroes of our county.
