SAHWR celebrates International Women’s Day 2025

On 10th March, we celebrated International Women’s Day with a Team Away day. It was a great opportunity for all staff to come together, celebrate and share the great work we do and start developing plans for the future.

The theme of the day was focused on #LetsAccelerateAction and it was great to get together and come up with ideas of how we can improve the services we offer. The team came together, like they always do, and created a positive and empowering day.

We were joined on the day by our Chair of Trustees, Maralyn Pollard. Maralyn commented:

“It was fantastic to spend some time with all our fantastic staff, listen to their thoughts and ideas, and come up with plans to enhance the support we provide to survivors of domestic abuse in our refuges and within the local community. I am immensely proud of all their hard work and dedication to supporting our clients”.

Gemma Magee-Herd, Head of Domestic Abuse Services commented: “We are excited for what's to come for SAHWR and with this group of individuals driving it forward, I am excited to see what we can achieve both from our services and the wider #womensequality movement. As a team, we don’t often get the chance to come together and work collaboratively. Overall, it was a great success and we are already planning our next event…”
